For most silk & heavily embellished sarees, dry cleaning is the safest option to prevent damages. If handwashing is necessary, use cold water & mild detergent. Dry sarees in the shade keeping it away from sunlight, which can fade colors & damage the fabric. Store sarees in a cool & dry place. Kanjivarams, banarasis, viscose, georgette & organza, dry clean is preferred.
